Weener XL is a work development organization of the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and is a merger between a social workplace and a public social service providing financial support (welfare benefits). Weener XL supports people (16-65 years old) in finding work, solving their financial, social and personal issues and motivating them through social activation and social participation. Weener XL also has in-house employment opportunities for disadvantaged people. Its mission is work or participate to the best of someone’s capacity. There are about 2000 persons within the organization, among them colleagues working in a regular job with wage subsidy working, in a social workplace, in work-experience places or in sheltered employment. In addition, 550 persons participate as volunteer, informal care or being engaged in work development-oriented daytime activities. Furthermore, we have 4000 persons depending on Social Welfare. Among them about 390 youngsters and 376 refugees. We have a separate policy for young people (aged 16 to 27 years) and refugees. For them we have next to dedicated work consultants, internal services, trainings and trajectories also external and individual customized pathways, job coaching and life coaching. We also work close with (special and vocational) education, youth organizations and compulsory education.

The youth services of the city of Espoo provides services for young people as required by the Finnish law. Most of our staff is in direct contact with young people between 13 and 17 years old, with programs which target young people who are older than 17 years old.

One of the Espoo municipality’s main purposes is to be there for the young people in their everyday lives, listening to them and perceiving them as a potential important partners. Our values are to be young-oriented, to be innovative and to be fair in our actions. We encourage young people’s participation and we want that every young person in Espoo to be able to influence the topics of greatest interest to them.

We encourage young people to meet new friends, to develop sociability and have fun with their peers. Variety is a strength and we give everyone a chance to be themselves. Our main asset are our educated professionals who work with young people. They support the young people in their lives and help them in troubled times. We work closely with the families of young people and local NGOs.

Vienna Association of Education Volunteers (VAEV) is a non-governmental organization, based in Vienna, Austria, formed by a community of passionate advocates committed to developing sustainable solutions to improve education and learning processes by conducting research, participating in projects and promoting innovation. Through continuous interaction of cross border collaboration, VAEV develops and delivers programmes in the form of community-based activities to empower people, advocate for policy change and advance and strengthen access to quality education and learning opportunities for the most vulnerable groups.

Our members are change makers that strive to create lasting solutions that improve education and learning by promoting collaborative partnerships to share their expertise, insight, resources and best practices, undertake a number of activities and projects that contribute to the development of inclusive, equitable and quality education, and stimulate lifelong learning opportunities, especially for youth, seniors, people with disabilities, minority groups, refugees, migrants, and those living in areas of high social deprivation.

Fundacja Instytut Re-Integracji Spolecznej ("Institute of Social Re-Integration") was established in 2016. Its main goal is broadly understood cultural and artistic education of children, adolescents and adults, mainly in the non-formal sphere. The Institute creates international multilateral consortia, thanks to which it deepens Europe’s cohesion and promotes pro-European citizenship. The Foundation supports all young creative people who want to deepen their passions, publicly proclaim their beliefs and improve the world. Our organisation addresses a lot of activities to disadvantaged groups.

Fondazione Piazza dei Mestieri

Turin (Italy)

Piazza dei Mestieri is a foundation based in Turin, Italy, for educational purposes. Its main aim is to support vocational training for young people and help them enter the labour market by improving and innovating educational services. It focuses on social inclusion policies and preventing the disadvantages faced by young people, especially early school-leavers. Our objective is to create multi-purpose youth centres with a vocational focus, using co-management methods which enable youths to access the following services: orientation; work-related learning courses (with actual work experience provided throughout training); technical and professional training; school support activities; cultural activities; sports and recreational activities.

Piazza dei Mestieri recreates the atmosphere of a traditional town square of centuries past, where craftspeople used to meet and share their know-how and abilities in a process of cultural exchange. The centre is devoted to the idea of mutual aid, the exchange of labour and resources, wherein differing analyses and perspectives may be compared and contrasted in view of the common good, ultimately benefiting the community and individuals alike.

Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi

A dynamic cultural centre of international importance offering a high quality art exhibition and public programme within a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, Palazzo Strozzi is a focal point of Italy’s cultural scene. Built around the original Renaissance courtyard, a public square that plays host to concerts, performances, installations and interventions and sees more than two million people pass through it every year, Palazzo Strozzi’s is a key cultural hub in the city and an important link between Florence and world.

Whilst dedicated to presenting new work and challenging ideas, the Fondazione aims to make the programme as accessible and inclusive as possible, experimenting with new forms of collaboration and audience engagement. The rich public programme based on research into arts education includes specific offers for young people, schools and families, as well as special audiences including visitors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and autism.

Arcadia Musa Centro de Artes

Musa Art Centre is a private organization, was born at 2019. It is situated in a countryside, distant 50 km from Lisbon. This start up is organizing artistic residences, producing artistic creations and offering workshops for the community of the region under the non-formal educational field. Musa has also initiatives with national and international artists concerning trainings through Art or artistic creations.

Musa aims for human development to break the underdevelopment of Poceirão region where it is situated, using the artistic approach to self-knowledge, team work and improve the communication through artistic expression and seeking a creative understanding between young adults and seniors.

Tirantes

Tirantes was established in 2017. Its main goal is connecting the link between education and labor market. This connection can only be realized by building networks between education, government and companies. Main focus is on offering perspective for specific target groups like unemployed people, risky youngsters, dropouts from schools, refugees, ex drug addicts, ex prisoners. Tirantes participates in Erasmus+ programs and deals with issues like prevention early school leaving, prevention (youth)unemployment, career orientation and career guidance, 21st century skills, reintegration and social inclusion. Motto of Tirantes is passion, vision and action. These three aspects create perspective for vulnerable people on their way to the labor market.

CNR-IRCrES

The Research Institute on Sustainable Economic Growth of the National Research Council of Italy, is part of the Department for human and social sciences and cultural heritage of the CNR and it was established on October 21st 2014 through the merger of CERIS and the ISEM UOSs of Turin and Genoa. The mission of IRCRES is to carry out research and development on three main thematic areas: evolution of the Italian and European industrial system; organization and sustainability of the large systems of contemporary societies; socio-economic analysis of environment. IRCrES has two main horizontal research areas dealing with social and technological innovation and evaluation of public policies (including research evaluation). The main lines of research of the Institute concern: Structure and dynamics of economic systems; Organisation and sustainability of social systems; Science, innovation, research and technology transfer policies; Applied evaluation methodologies and innovative training and education models; Socio-economic studies on rural development and environmental issues. The methodologies applied in the research contexts range from advanced quantitative analysis: statistical, econometric and complex modelling techniques (artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, decision trees, agent simulations), to the use of qualitative methodologies: interviews, focus groups, participant and non-participant observation, up to the historical approach and policy analysis studies.
